My mood when people other than my friends’ ask about my love life. ? #getthestrap Last night at an event celebrating the achievements and successes of women, I get asked by a journalist about my love life. Honestly, I’ve not had a relationship in the public eye since 2014 (with maybe the exception of meeting and liking someone on a TV show, which I was therefore happy to talk about). If I wanted to talk about my love life, it’d be on Instagram therefore in the public eye, so then by all means then ask me about it. But why are people still so bothered about our relationship status like it’s the only thing that makes us interesting? I’m doing loads in my career, I talk a lot about issues that matter to me, I’ve just had a piece of artwork by the @connorbrothersofficial created… there’s so much about me that’s more interesting than if I’m maybe dating someone in the public eye. I find it rude intrusive and really backwards, and quite frankly no one’s business unless I make it. ? PS: This applies to weddings too!

Wild thang. ? On second thoughts, there are worse places to be stranded. ☺️ The good news is, my bag was handed in with all the contents, the bad news is I’d already changed my locks and cancelled my passport. WHAT’S WRONG WITH ME? ??‍♀️ Sorry, another waffle. ? I wanted to write this post to all the women (including my friends) who contact me all the time questioning what’s wrong with them because they are either single and haven’t found “the one” yet, or who are in or coming out of toxic relationships… THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU.❣️ I’m writing this (with the hottest picture I could take today) mainly because I’ve had to remind myself of all these things this week. Life continues with so much happiness if you’re single after 30 (or late 20’s) and there is no rush to settle down. There’s SO much societal pressure to find the one or settle down that when things don’t work out we’re left questioning our own worth. Even me, I’m so happy and have got to a place where I’ve stopped spending too much energy on wanting to be in a relationship and spend more time focusing on my friends, but it’s easy to get sucked into societal pressure, especially when someone messes you around. It might look like others have a happy ever after, but things aren’t always as they seem and not every relationship is happy. It might feel like you’re “running out of time”, but we still have so much life to live, and being with the wrong person would feel like prison. I shot this photo today with @lydiaxcollins, and wanted to attach it to this post, because quite honestly, it’s the hottest I’ve ever looked. So to all the people worried that their “being left on the shelf”, or questioning leaving unhappy relationships… we are our hottest, most confident, most self-aware and most financially independent now more than ever. Let’s not waste the best part of our lives wishing our life away. Young, wild, and free. ?‍♀️?? And yes, even in my 30’s I am young! It upsets me so much hearing friends and other girls talk about themselves as if they are old, especially in relation to dating. The amount of times I hear people lament being single, or say time is running out, or they need to lower their standards to find a guy. I hope to be alive and young-spirited 50 years from now, like Lady Style, a lady I started visiting and who became my friend at 97 and who believed the best days of her life were still to come. She died at 104 and her advice to me was always to enjoy life and fall in love as much as possible: with people, things, adventures. She (we) always drank a bottle of wine every day. She always said that stress was a worse drug, and I always think of that because I stress A LOT. ? Stop seeing being single as failure, people come in and out of our lives at different times. It’s not good or bad, it just is. Stop thinking time is running out in your late 20’s and 30’s, we are still so young and have so much life to live, people to love, and the world to see. And without getting too Baz Luhrmann about it, one day we’ll look back and wish we were as young, wild, and free as we are now with the bodies the way they look now. ?

Oh I do like to be bedside the seaside. ☀? Body confidence is most definitely a journey for me, and I have days where I feel good and other days where I focus on my insecurities and critique myself. I guess we all do, it’s what makes us human. On this particular day, I felt weird about putting on a bikini. ? I’ve come to learn that a lot of the time our perceived flaws are subjective and other people don’t see them, so we shouldn’t point them out. Sometimes I find myself wanting to project my insecurities, perhaps to put myself down before others can? So on this day, I picked out my new favourite bikini, looked in the mirror and told myself several times: “you look cute”. I came out to the beach and said it again, “I feel so cute”. Looking back, I do actually look cute and I’m glad I didn’t let the voice in my head ruin my day. I’m saying this not because I want validation, but just to try remind us all that others aren’t judging us the way our mind can make us believe. Splish splash I was taking a bath. ? A combination of travelling a lot and being injured has left me a lil less toned than I usually am, but am I less able of having fun? No. I’ve had the best few months of my life. Do I still feel desirable? Absolutely yes. Does anyone around me notice the difference? Probably not. Is it absolutely normal for people to have rolls? Abso-bloody-lutely. ❣️ The funny thing is, most people won’t look at this and think anything negative about my body at all. I think it’s why it’s worth being mindful of the energy you put out when talking about insecurities. (Although you should ALWAYS talk to loved ones about this, they will always pick you up! I mean more don’t feel the need to do it to strangers). Pointing out your perceived flaws about your appearance draws people’s attention to things they wouldn’t necessarily see or notice. But I just wanted to make the point that it’s normal to beat yourself up or have low days some days. Self-love is a journey and no one loves themselves all the time. I’ve felt a bit out of sorts as I’ve been letting my natural hair grow out to get it healthy, and because the travelling has left me out of a routine with eating, exercise, my nails are grown out etc. It’s easy to let self-loathing take over and project it onto the outside. Remind yourself you are beautiful and worthy, and don’t let your own perceptions knock your confidence or make you settle for anything other than what you deserve. ❣️ I’m looking forward to getting back into a healthy routine with food and exercise, I just want to remind you (as much as myself), not to let your perception of your body prevent you from living your life and having fun. We’re all going to look back in a few years and wish we were grateful for the body we had now. We’re all worthy of love, fun, and desire HOWEVER we look for whatever reason. And also just a reminder that this same body can be in a different position and look toned. ??‍♀️ Also, I really need to copy these bathroom interiors. Makeup or no makeup? ☀️ Confidence is a funny thing, I did my hair and makeup one day on the ship, but looking back at the photos I think I looked nicer with no makeup and my hair tied back. I actually LOVE taking the time to do my makeup and playing around with different products, and think we should be able to wear it or not without comments or judgement. We should all do whatever makes us feel good and if that’s wearing a full face of makeup the beach, that’s cool. I support that. ✌️ When I’m home I want to try play with colourful eyeshadows. I’ve wanted to find a good blue or green for ages but they always seem to look grey. What are the best brands that have good pigment? ? Sadly when I went up to the top deck it was too windy to even wear this bikini, but I love it all the same. It’s @elizabethhurleybeach always do great ones. I topped up my spray tan with @barebyvogue, I’m very very impressed @voguewilliams. ?? #noretouching

Sexiness is a state of mind not a size or a diet. ? I’ve had a knee injury so haven’t been able to do any exercise all year until yesterday. I am so happy to be able to run again and to go back to Kobox. I want to feel my body moving again! I’ve put on a few more pounds, but I’m still cute as hell. I actually love my cute tiny roll. ? I think it’s easy to get caught up in feeling that you’ll be happy WHEN (eg: I’ll like my body when I’ve finished this 6 week exercise regime), but it’s important to remember to love yourself in the present too. ❣️ #noretouching #bikini #downtownla

AD: Lingerie doesn’t always have to be sexy, sometimes I feel the prettiest in the cute basic lingerie I wear everyday. ? I realise that I always show super sexy sets of lingerie online, but actually I spend way more time in the basic everyday sets, because let’s be honest, comfort is life. But basic doesn’t have to mean boring. For me, having a spray tan and wearing nice lingerie brings me the most confidence. “Why are you still single?” ? The more I talk about relationships and my single status the more people message me asking how and why I’m still single. I know this is meant to be a compliment, but it’s also part of the problem with society (and the reason single people should be paid to attend weddings and put up with all the patronizing comments and questions about our relationship status ?) – being single shouldn’t be viewed as some badge of failure. We shouldn’t feel the need to ‘settle’ or feel there’s something wrong with us if we’re not with someone. ??‍♀️ I would NEVER go up to someone in a relationship and say “why did you settle for this toxic relationship when you’re both clearly not happy”, and honestly it’s kind of the same thing. #harshbuttrue Over the last 6 years of being single, I’ve made terrible choices, had my heart broken and confidence crushed, but now – for honestly the first time – I feel like the time alone has really taught me to grow into the best version of myself. I am now completely comfortable with myself (strengths and acknowledging and working on my flaws), and I feel so complete. Perhaps if it wasn’t for the pressure to be in a relationship and allowing my standards to be compromised I wouldn’t have been with half the losers I entertained. My friends are great, I get to travel whenever I want, AND get to do whatever I want with no compromise. ? So why am I single? Because I don’t need someone to complete me, there’s absolutely no hurry, and I’m waiting for my soulmate – the person who is going to enhance my life and personality in every single way (and vice versa). ❤️ Wanted to post this for anyone who feels like there’s pressure. You’re single not because there’s something wrong with you, but because it’s how it’s meant to be and because you’re growing into the best version of yourself. Maybe the people you’ve met just aren’t damn good enough for you. If you relate to this, you should read @slumflower book What A Time to be Alone – it is EVERYTHING. Cheers to all us single folk. ??
